“Upon returning home after attending the course, I presented to my colleagues the budgeting tools I learned in order to prepare for our application to the Global Fund. The budgeting tools were very useful and can be used in any health programme. They provided easily defined TB activities, but also categorized those activities that fit Global Fund stipulations. It eased our efforts substantially when preparing our own budget!” Dr. Dance Gudeva Nikovska, Deputy Coordinator and M&E Officer
Ministry of Health, Macedonia

Participants in this course are eligible for 30 CME credits.

Comprehensive budgeting and sound financial management and reporting are cornerstones of an effective health programme. Responsible and transparent fiscal management is imperative to building a strong programme with lasting results. In addition, knowledge of not only how to develop a budget - incorporating all of the essential factors required in a health programme budget - but also how to manage and update it is equally as important.

This course provides participants advanced training in budget development processes for national health programmes. The course also is ideal for those tasked with creating international donor applications. Furthermore, participants will learn to conduct accurate and clear financial reporting, as well as techniques on how to monitor funds throughout the duration of a project. Participants will engage in simulated work projects that mirror situations they will encounter in the workplace. Making use of lectures, in-class discussions and exercises incorporating real-life situations, this course will guide participants to higher levels of financial expertise and responsibility.

Benefits of Attending:
